Meet the Team

At Counterslip, we have a great team of people who lead in different ways. The Pastors and Elders lead the spiritual direction of the church, the deacons help to keep practical running of the church in order and all of the many different teams and groups in the church are headed up by a dedicated team of leaders.</p>

Ian Sinclair

Ian was Pastor in Seaford for fourteen years before coming to Counterslip in 2002. He's married to Jill, who is a teacher, and they have three children, Ceri, Naomi and Ben. Ian was a B.T. engineer before becoming a Pastor. He is passionate about Liverpool FC, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Eric Clapton.

Mark Godbeer

Mark began his role as Associate Pastor Sept 03. Mark grew up in Hartcliffe and spent 20 years in contracting before training to be a pastor. He is married to Glynis and they have two children, Sarah and Peter. They have lived in Hengrove for 23 years. He loves to share good food with good company and is particulary fond of Indian food. He's keen on photography and watching any kind of rugby.

Kath Wilson

Before starting as Youth Pastor at Counterslip in September 08, Kath trained with the Centre for Youth Ministry in Bristol. Prior to this she trained in Graphic Design and worked part time in a bar. She recently married Duane, who is a maths teacher. Kath is originally from Cardiff, and is more patriotic than ever since leaving! She enjoys watching all forms of American teen drama and watching films as long as they are not scary.

Zoe Hawkins

Zoe is married with two children, she moved to Bristol in 2004. After the birth of her daughter Zoe started to come to Counterslip's parent and toddler group. She made new friends and started to question what God was all about. Slowly Zoe began to come to Counterslip church services (hiding at the back) then after some time she started on an Alpha Course and her questions began to be answered. In 2006 Zoe was baptized and then started to work in the office in 2007. Zoe's work history ranges from Recruitment manager to manager of a American Tex Mex Bar in the Edgware.
